David Simpson

A life-long student, Dr. Simpson recently attained the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree at the University of Liverpool. David is an 18-year veteran of the Private Equity industry has underwritten over $5 billion of institutional commitments (for pensions, family offices, and endowments) to over 50 investment products including:

• Strategies: Buyouts, venture capital, growth capital, distressed, credit, energy, and infrastructure

• Investment structures (with attendant legal negotiations): Funds, secondaries, co-investments, and separate accounts

• Geographies: U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and South America, and the Middle East

David has served on numerous LPACs and spoken at conferences globally, He has been a strong advocate for DEI and emerging market investments, evidenced by his service as a member of ILPA’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and as a judge on LAVCA’s annual ESG Deal Awards competition. Highlights include:

• Leading annual PE strategy and policy development processes

• Leading a $1 billion secondary sale, including advisor RFP process

• Heading a cross-division Knowledge Management System vendor selection process

• Spearheading the pension’s first investments in emerging markets

• Hiring, managing, and developing talent and team building

David is also an award-winning filmmaker, a competitive tennis player, and a tournament poker player.
